Fast and Faster
GPM4, along with power of Cortex-M4F, is embedded a 128KB SRAM to boost the data access speed instantly and a 256Mb DDR SDRAM (Double Data Rate SDRAM) to transfer large amount of data, especially image and video, nearly twice faster than the traditional SDRAM in speed.
High Definition, High Standard
GPM4 features a H.264 baseline profile CODEC with a maximum of 1080p/30fps for real-time video record and playback. H.264 (or MPEG-4) represents the standard of full high definition digital video. It compresses a digital video file to a size that is only half of DVD standard to deliver the same video quality. It's been commonly employed in many of devices we use today, from a cellular phone to a full high-definition blu-ray DVD player.

GPM4 is designed to deliver satisfied video quality with a full high-definition 1080p capability. Thanks to the innovation in full high-definition technology, it captures clearer and sharper images while recording; that's twice of details than a standard definition. Its specifications come with the followings:
ISO/IEC 10918-1 baseline JPEG.
High-speed decoding and encoding, up to 64M pixels.
Hardware Motion JPEG decoding and encoding (up to 1080p@30fps) for real-time video record and playback.
1080p HDMI output with VGA or 720p to 1080p up-scaling engine.
5M RAW SENSOR ISP
A 5M-pixel Image Signal Processing (ISP) unit has been employed to GPM4 to perform functions such as demosaicing, focusing, exposuring, white-balance-adjustment, filting, noise reduction, and image correction, etc. It employs the histogram statistics for auto brightness and auto contrast.
Mobile Industry Processor Interface
GPM4 is compliant with the MIPI standard, having one set of two-lane or two sets of 1-lane MIPI input and supporting video-in and CMOS sensor interface, and CCIR601/CCIR656 standard.
Face Detection is a type of technology widely used in today's vision computing and engineering. GPM4 comes with a face detection engine to determine the existence, location, and size of a human face, but ignores others in a scene. GPM4's face detection is programmable and expandable to further detect hands and eyes, and supports a 320 x 240 detection, YUV422 and Y-only source format, and image rotation angle in degrees of 0, 90, 180, and 270.
Each Pixel Matters
GPM4 is designed to support a TFT LCD display in order to highlight its excellence in display. TFT or called active-matrix technology performs a better resolution and color depth over other display technology to deliver crisp, sharper, and clearer image. Technically, GPM4 supports the following TFT's interface specification:

Picture Processing Unit
GPM4 outfits a high-performance Picture Processing Unit (PPU) with a QVGA/VGA/D1 virtual 3D engine to accelerate graphical processing speed. Up to four text layers with 1024 sprites and 4096 extended sprites are also available as well as a maximum of 4096 palette index colors capability. With this outstanding processing unit, majority of special graphical effects can be produced the way it is expected including flipping, blending, rotation, zooming, fading, and mosaic.
